OUR PHOTOS

GhostBreakers  will make all effort NOT to post obvious photos that are open to the interpretation of the individual. We will post photos that we ourselves cannot explain unless we feel it may be of public interest.
The photos below were all taken by a member of GhostBreakers. They may have been enlarged to see better. It will be up to you as to what you believe...

This first photo is of a old hotel in Effort, Pennsylvania. Originally called Effort House. It still stands and was still a hotel until recently. As I have been told it was originally a hotel and Stage Coach stop and is on the main route from Scranton Pa. I remember stopping at the bar on the way home after work to wind down about 35 years ago. It was still operational then but has obviously fallen into disrepair. Here is what it originally looked like.

The old building holds many stories from the last 150 years. Look at the window to the left of the door on the second floor then at the close up. I took this photo while researching the area. It appears to be a person wearing a red cloak. The reason I added this photo is because if you notice, the image is consistant in all 4 separate panes of glass and has color around the figure. There is nothing across the street or near by to cause this type reflection that I could find and there are no reflections in the other windows. Click on the first photo for a better enlargement, where you can see the window up close and clear. Thought some of you might enjoy it. Do you see it?

I make no claims as to whether the story is true or not but makes for a great ghost story. The story goes as I remember, that some time in the 1800's a stage stopped on it's way to Philadelphia carrying a pregnant young woman wearing a red cloak / hooded cape. She was apparently in labor so she was put up in the Effort House to have the baby.  Unfortunately she died in childbirth and that is where the story ends as far as anyone knows. However, since then there supposedly has been reported that people have seen a young woman in a red cloak in the windows. She is supposedly looking for her baby. That's all I know now. The Effort House has been sold and the owner has granted permission for me to take the photos you see but has asked me to wait until the Inn is vacated before taking inside photos. Hopefully soon.

Not the only haunted location in the area but one of the most interesting.
